Khorwa is Karma's latest body of paintings, currently underway, exploring memory, exile, and belonging. The title comes from the Tibetan word for samsara, our involuntary wandering through repeating emotional and karmic patterns we're trapped in. Khorwa's homophone Kora is the practice of intentionally circling sacred objects like stupas or holy mountains. In this collection, the sacred object Karma circles is Tibet itself: a homeland he holds in memory only, a homeland exerts a constant pull on every experience and emotion, yet one he cannot return to. 

Through paintings rooted in his own life , as a child raised in a Tibetan Children's Village in exile, and shaped by his training in traditional Thangka painting, Karma is working through the elements of space, air, water, fire, and earth to hold loss and hope, grief and love, together. Deeply personal, the work speaks to the wider Tibetan exile community and to anyone who has known displacement.
