Thangka Paintings
Karma’s thangka painting journey began at the age of 15, when he began studying the traditional lineage of Tibetan Buddhist art under master Rigzin Paljor, a former court painter of the Potala Palace. He went on to complete the six-year thangka course in just two and a half years. Working with mineral pigments and pure gold that he grinds himself on self-prepared cotton canvas, Karma has taken commissions from individuals, monasteries, and schools and has passed on his knowledge of this tradition to many dedicated students. His unique style in thangka paintings blends the disciplined mindfulness of this tradition with a powerful personal and spiritual narrative he has drawn from his contemporary practice.
